Winged Beans
Posted By Admin on March 14, 2009
If there’s one thing that I would really really like to see in the USA is this… my favorite, favorite sigarilyas, in English, Winged beans!!! I’m telling you I cannot take it anymore! I need to eat this veggie really. I don’t know why but I really just love it so much. It’s kinda sweet when it’s mixed with some eggplant and cooked in coconut milk. I have scoured the Asian and Oriental market in our area but I have never once seen winged beans, not even one.
Arrggh , just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I am feeling hungry again.

There are so many “Winged Beans”seeds for sale online, among them “Echo Garden”at North Fort Myers,FL.I have ordered on line recently so as Moringa Oleifera seeds (Malungay),they shipped within 3 days from order.
Just type in Echo Graden and you will be prompted to a website for your convenience .
Hope it helps. Just planted mine yesterday 4/20/09 will keep you posted when they sprout.I live in southern CA so I do not have such obstacles as we have warm weather.
Good luck “Miss Sigarilyas”

Hi Ms. Juanita, I went to the website http://echobooks.org/product_info.php?cPath=25_68_69&products_id=407 and found the winged beans indeed at only $4.00.
Thanks for the info, I will definitely keep it in mind. Now that got me thinking of growing my very own garden in the future…
