MagicJack Works!

I have been doubtful of this Magic Jack infomercial but not anymore. My Aunt who visited the USA bought one for herself and had it installed in her laptop. When she got back to the Philippines, she called me using her Magic Jack. A friend of my Mom, also bought one and had been using her Magic Jack to call her relatives in the USA and Canada. I bought one for myself too and found out some facts about this MagicJack :
~ The call is free if a Magic Jack number is calling another MagicJack number. This will work great for OFWs and their families, as long as both have the MagicJack, and both have internet connection.
~ Magic Jack can call any US and Canada number …
~ People in the US and Canada can call the Magic Jack US number that’s located anywhere in the world …
~ Magic Jack should only dial US and Canada phone numbers, if not, one has to buy the international minutes to be able to call another country other than US and Canada…
~ You connect it to your computer’s USB, not to the modem so the computer needs always to be turned on to activate the MagicJack…
~ There is a renewal fee or fee of some sort after a year …
~ The reception is a bit choppy sometimes especially if the magicJack is connected to a PC that has slow Internet connection…
So folks, this is my firsthand experience with the MagicJack and overall it is working okay, except when my Comcast internet connection gets lost that is.
I decided to blog about this because I know that lots of my fellow Filipinos want to call the US and it’s expensive so I hope this information helps in a way. If you are doing business with people in the US and Canada, the Magicjack will save you a lot of bucks.
