And so the long-awaited question on when the reduced working hours will take effect at the company I worked for was finally answered today. It was our quarterly performance meeting today and our CEO announced that the Production and Materials departments ( I am with the Materials Department being the Receiving Inspector) will have unpaid days off every Friday starting March 1st. How long it will last is something unsure but for the days that we will be unpaid will be covered by the Workforce-Unemployment-something. What we’ll be receiving from Unemployment won’t be much but it’s better than nothing.
I don’t know whether I should be happy or sad. On the upside, I feel that’s okay with me because I don’t have to wake up so early in the morning especially during these wintry days when it’s so hard to get up coz it’s cold. On the downside, of course that’s got an effect on my already-strained budget. I’ve got credit cards to pay off too ! Waaahhhh!
