Winter Cough …

I used to say that winter is my most favorite time of the year. I like the cold weather, I like the rain but not anymore ! Because of the cold weather, I had been coughing so much. It started last January 22, when I laid down to sleep and I began coughing. You know that kind of cough where you start to cough and it just keeps on coming on two minutes interval that your chest hurts? There’s also this feeling of something blocking your airways that you can’t breathe? I have that kind when nighttime comes. I had to sleep in the living room sofa so that I won’t bother my son and husband’s sleep.

I tried to have an appointment with a doctor at Kaiser Permanente but they told me these kind of ailments can just be dealt with over the phone and so a flu nurse just gave me a prescription for guaifenesin/codeine to make me sleep at night and an albuterol to help my airways, to make me breathe easier. She also told me to have cough drops in the daytime and to drink lots of hot fluids to help healing faster.

I have tried what she told me to do but still not feeling better. The coughing at night is still there. I think I am losing weight because I can’t sleep at night then I still have to work the following day. I have also lost my appetite.

This is the first time ever in my 36 years that I have experienced this so this is something new to me. Normally my maladies are just the common colds but no persistent coughing like this. Well hopefully, after three weeks, this coughing will go away soon.

For now, I hate winter … :(

Brrrr…So Cold Right Now

Oh my gosh, it certainly is cold right now where we’re at in Northern California. It is soooo hard to get up in the morning. I feel like just sleeping and covering myself in my warm blanket the whole day. Everyday that I have to go to work I have to drag myself off the bed just to get myself ready. And it doesn’t snow here huh? Imagine if it does, I cannot imagine the cold, biting, freezing.. Good thing it doesn’t snow in our area, if it does, maybe I wouldn’t be able to bear it, I’d have to move to another state. :)
