So if there’s one good thing about the weakening of the US economy right now is this, gas prices are going down, down, down. Imagine it goes down to 3 cents every day???
The other day, my husband went out early morning to get gas, price was 2.87 dollars a gallon, when we passed by the same gas station that same day after work, it was already down to 2.83 dollars, that’s four cents less than the early morning price my husband paid for, right?
Frankly, I have mixed feelings about the plummeting gas prices. I feel a bit relieved that buying gas is not as expensive as before but on the other hand, I feel like something’s amiss here, like something’s fishy or something’s terribly wrong or will go wrong. Is it really just the supply and demand factor why gas prices are going down? Is there more supply these days due to the fact a lot of people got laid off, so they are spending less on gas, they travel less these days?
I feel there’s more to it than just that reason, I feel that there’s an impending doom looming ahead.
Okay, maybe I am just getting too paranoid, I hope that is just that, nothing else.

Sabi ng isang kano, McCain sya, kasi of the two, lesser evil daw si McCain. Pareho daw kasing mukhang phony, peke. Okay lang kahit anong kulay basta effective and efficient di ba?
Oh well, let’s just wait and hold our breath for America’s next president, be it Obama or McCain.
Sa lahat ng mga pwedeng bumoto sa November 4, “get out and vote!” and vote wisely.

Well as all of you know, USA is in a tight situation right now. There has been a lot of layoffs these days that all of us here are kinda bracing ourselves for the inevitable.
In our company alone, they have already laid off some ten people, more on the office and sales team. The owner of our company, the one who slaved through it all during those starting-up days, has to cut off some of his time from his own company just to cut costs. So has his daughter-in-law.It’s kinda funny and strange but I guess they know that the lower-rung people needs the job more than they do so they in a way had to sacrifice their time.
One of our big-time customers, had laid off 600 of its work force. Now that’s a big one.I feel for the people who had lost their jobs with this economic crisis.
My cousin, who’s a nurse, has received a call that her salary is being reviewed since it was equal to a charge-nurse and she’s not a charge nurse. It’s just that that was what she negotiated for before she came here to California from Arizona. We don’t know if that’s legal but then again, all companies are trying to cut down costs to keep people from losing their jobs.
So I don’t know if there are people around in the US who are not afraid of what is happening here. No matter how big and indispensable we think we are to the company we are working for, just the same, we can’t be sure if they won’t lay us off. Nobody is sure at all. And when I think about how to pay off all the expenses that will be coming in in case we got laid off from our jobs, I just don’t know how people will cope. Just think about the 4k+ mortgage, the credit card loans, the car loans, the phone, water, garbage, electric bills, and it will be no wonder some people will definitely be banging their heads on the wall.
It’s scary. I hope this economic crunch will pass by without hurting a lot of people.
