Celebrating the Christmas and the New Year, since I got here in the USA , has suddenly diminished my want to celebrate them at all. Christmas is no longer my favorite time of the year. And New Year is just one of those days that I’d rather hit the sack than wait for the countdown to the coming New Year. Why, you might ask ? For one thing, the most important people in my life, other than my husband and my son who are here with me, my siblings and my mother are still in the Philippines. Now it’s just me and my husband and my little one. What is the joy in celebrating Christmas there? Well I agree that Christmas is all about remembering the birth of our Saviour and all those things, but it’s also about being with your family in that very special season of love and giving, right ?

How I miss having my family with me on Christmas and New Year’s , especially my little nephews and nieces who, by the time I get to see them again, I know they’d be all grown up and won’t probably recognize their Auntie Nana.

Oh well, I guess I just have to try to be happy and merry this Christmas. What’s to do anyway, this is something that’s been written in the stars, it’s my destiny that for sometime I would have to go through a certain phase of my life without my Ma and my siblings around me, especially during Christmas.
